Fees
This page lists every fee on UniPlays: the amount, who pays it, who receives it and whether it can change. It is part of the Terms of Use and the Developer agreement.
Games launch on Robinhood Chain, and the table below covers them.
Every fee on Robinhood Chain
| Fee | Amount | Who pays | Who receives | Can it change |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Trading fee | 1% of the WETH side of every trade, on the curve and, after graduation, in the UniPlays pool. Never charged on token transfers. | The trader | Half to the game’s developer (0.5% of the trade), half to UniPlays (0.5% of the trade) | No. The rate and the equal split are fixed in the contracts. |
| Platform share | The platform’s half of the trading fee, the launch fee and the graduation fee. | Nobody extra. It comes out of the fees above. | UniPlays. None of it goes to a token buyback or to any holders. | No. Where it is paid is fixed in the contracts. |
| Graduation fee | 0.3 WETH, taken once from the raised WETH when a curve sells out, and never more than half of it. The pool opens at the price the curve ended at, and the tokens that would have been paired with the fee are burned. | Nobody extra. It comes out of the raise, not from the developer or a trader. | UniPlays | No. The amount and the half cap are fixed in the contracts. |
| Extra game fee | 0% to 3% of the token side of every curve and pool trade, chosen by the developer at launch. The developer also fixes how it is split between the holders of the game’s reward NFTs and the game’s treasury, for example 1% to holders and 2% to the treasury. | The trader | The holders of the game’s reward NFTs and that game’s treasury, in the split fixed at launch. The treasury’s part is less any share the game burns on arrival (up to 50%). | No. The fee, the split and the weight of each reward NFT type are fixed at launch for the life of the game. |
| Launch fee | 0.0004 ETH, plus gas. | The developer | UniPlays | No. The amount is fixed in the launch contract. |
| Pool protocol fee | Up to 0.1% per swap direction on pool trades after graduation, if the third party switches it on. | The trader | The protocol fee controller of the Uniswap v4 pool manager, a third party | Yes, by that third party, up to that limit. |
| Shop purchase | The price the developer sets. UniPlays takes nothing. | The buyer | The developer, the game’s treasury and a burn, split as the developer published it | The developer sets prices and the split. The terms in force are shown before you pay. |
| Item market sale | A royalty of 0% to 10% of each sale, set for each item type. 5% is the suggested rate. | The seller, out of the sale proceeds | The developer, or burned, as the game chose | No. Fixed when the item type is declared. |
| Paid draw entry | The price the developer sets, as a fixed amount of the game’s token or a dollar amount converted to tokens on chain. UniPlays takes nothing. | The player | Burned, up to all of it, as the draw’s burn setting says. The rest goes to that game’s treasury, less any share the game burns on arrival. Never to the developer. | No. The price, odds, burn setting and per-wallet limit are fixed when the draw is created. |
| Match rake | 0% to 10% of the stakes, shown before you join. UniPlays takes nothing. | The players in the match | That game’s treasury, less any share the game burns on arrival (up to 50%) | Set by the developer within the limit. You accept it when you join. |
| Chance house fee | Rounds of chance are not open yet. When they open: up to 50%, as published for the round, refunded in full if the result does not arrive in time. UniPlays takes nothing. | The player | That game’s treasury, less any share the game burns on arrival (up to 50%) | Set by the developer within the limit, before the round opens. |
| Hosting | Starting credit of $25, paid in WETH at launch or in USDG for a game already live. Top-ups in USDG, where 1 USDG buys $1 of credit. Usage is charged from credit at our provider’s cost plus a margin, first as an estimate and then corrected to the provider’s bill. | The developer, only if they choose hosting | UniPlays | Yes. UniPlays sets the margin and gives 14 days’ notice before raising it. Credit is not refundable. |
| Buying with ETH | The ETH is swapped for the token, and that swap pays the trading fee and the game’s extra fee. | The buyer | As for the trading fee and the extra game fee | As for those fees. |
| Network gas | Set by Robinhood Chain for each transaction. | Whoever sends the transaction | The network | Yes, by the network. |
Where the platform’s share goes
The platform’s half of every trading fee (0.5% of trading volume), the launch fee and the graduation fee are paid to UniPlays. None of it buys a token, and none of it goes to the holders of any NFT. The holders of a game’s reward NFTs receive only that game’s own share of its extra fee.
Good to know
- UniPlays takes no share of shop sales, match stakes, chance entries, draw entries or prizes.
- A trade in any pool other than the UniPlays pool created at graduation pays neither the trading fee nor the extra game fee.
- A game may burn up to 50% of every payment into its treasury as it arrives. That covers the extra game fee, the treasury’s share of shop sales, match rakes and what chance rounds take in. The share is recorded on chain, and a change takes effect 24 hours after the developer requests it.
- The launch fee is a fixed amount of ETH, and a launch reads no price. A shop or draw price stated in US dollars is converted to the game’s token on chain, from the token’s average price over the 30 minutes before a minute boundary the transaction names and the average ETH to US dollar price from the price feed over the same 30 minutes. No signed quote and no spot price is used, and you never pay more than your wallet showed. If the chain cannot establish the price, the payment is refused.
- Fees paid on chain cannot be refunded. The only exceptions are the full refund of a chance entry whose result did not arrive in time, and the full refund of a paid draw play in three cases: its randomness did not arrive within 24 hours, it was pending when an earlier play timed out, or it won when no prize was left to give. A draw refund returns what the play cost, not the play, which still counts toward the per-wallet limit.
- Where a fee can change, we will post the change here with a new last updated date.
